CLASS PLACEMENT AND ENROLLMENT
Initial placement in dance classes is determined at registration and is based on the student’s age, experience and ability. Staff will evaluate students during the first few weeks of class to ensure proper placement. In the regular season (mid-August through May), enrollment is open for pre-ballet and combo classes through September in the fall semester and again in January for the spring semester. Enrollment is open for all other dance classes through January, pending evaluation and class availability.
PRE-BALLET is designed for 2 year olds and is the perfect place to begin loving dance! Basic ballet skills, terminology, rhythm, and coordination are taught, practiced, and developed through creative movement and music in a nurturing and supportive environment.
BALLET, TAP & TUMBLING is a fun combo class designed for ages 3-4 (BTT1) and ages 4-5 (BTT2) focused on ballet & tap basics with a few minutes of simple tumbling. Developing basic skills and a love for dance is the goal for our young beginners.

SINGLE SUBJECT CLASSES for dancers in 2nd grade and up
BALLET: Ballet is an important foundation for success in all styles of dance. We encourage all dancers to train in ballet! Our ballet classes are leveled according to a specific syllabus are not the same as school grades. Students and parents should not expect to move up every year. Class placement is not that one is better than the other but students are grouped together by what they need to work on, their level of muscular strength, agility and control, along with musicality and vocabulary. Some students need more time to develop these skills and strengths an order to perform the vocabulary appropriately. Students should never feel that a step in a class is unattainable. Our goal is to equip them with the proper training and technique to be able to achieve and master the new step properly. They should be given time to master the basics so that when they are given more complex steps they will be able to achieve them confidently and gracefully.
