CLASS PLACEMENT AND ENROLLMENT
Initial placement in dance classes is determined at registration and is based on the student’s age, experience and ability. Staff will evaluate students during the first few weeks of class to ensure proper placement. In the regular season (mid-August through May), enrollment is open for pre-ballet and combo classes through September in the fall semester and again in January for the spring semester. Enrollment is open for all other dance classes through January, pending evaluation and class availability.
DRESS CODE GUIDELINES
Dancers should dress in comfortable, non-restrictive, modest, age-appropriate dance clothing. Hair should be up and preferably in a bun for all classes, all ages (exception – Hip Hop). Ballet class requirement is black leotard, pink tights and hair in a bun. Shoe requirements below. Dancers should wear a cover-up while in the common areas and not in class. Please note: dancers are required to have correct shoes, including color, as listed below for uniformity in recitals.

- Pre-Ballet: Pink Ballet w/pink elastic
- BTT Combo: Pink Split-Sole Ballet w/elastic, Black Patent Tap
- BTJ Combo: Pink Split-Sole Ballet w/elastic, Black Hard-Sole Lace-up Oxford Tap, Bloch Tan Jazz OR Capezio Caramel Jazz
- Ballet: Pink Split-Sole Ballet w/elastic
- Technique: any color or style of jazz shoe
- Drill Team: black jazz shoe
- Jazz: Bloch Tan Jazz OR Capezio Caramel Jazz
- Contemporary/Lyrical: Bodywrappers Twyla Canvas (style #620A)
- Tap: Black, Hard-Sole, Lace-Up Oxfords
- Hip-Hop: Instructor will advise
- Pointe: Instructor will advise
CHRISTMAS RECITAL FOR PRE-BALLET AND COMBO CLASSES
Our annual Christmas Recital for Pre-Ballet, BTT and BTJ classes takes place at LifeStage Theatre typically on the last Saturday of classes in December before the break. The Christmas Recital is a fun celebration of the holidays and all our young dancers have accomplished in the fall semester. Christmas Recital Fees and Costume Fees are due October 1 and are non-refundable. The Costume Fee ($75) not only cover the cost of the actual costume, but also other behind-the-scenes expenses including alterations, ordering, sorting, and other necessary administrative tasks associated with the recital.The Christmas Recital Fee ($25) helps cover costs such as theatre usage, programs, staff, etc.
Our Spring Dance Recital is the event our dancers will be working toward throughout the entire year. Although participation is not mandatory, it is strongly encouraged as the recital is a great opportunity for students and allows them to fully experience the benefit of all their hours of training. Spring Recital fees and costume fees are non-refundable.
SPRING RECITAL COSTUME FEE: The costume fees not only cover the cost of the actual costume, but also other behind-the-scenes expenses such as alterations, ordering, sorting, etc. Costume fees for Pre-Ballet, BTT and BTJ classes are $75/each and costume fees for individual subject classes are $85/each. Costume fees are due November 1.
SPRING RECITAL FEE: The recital fees are used to offset the costs of auditorium rental, programs, staff and other expenses associated with the recital. Spring Recital Fee is $75 per student and is due February 1 for all participating dancers.
COMPETITION (DANCE COMPANY AND DANCE TEAM)
Each summer, we offer the opportunity for dancers between the ages of 6-18 to audition for our competitive Dance Company or Dance Team. Auditions are typically held at the end of July in conjunction with our dance intensives. For more information about Dance Company and Dance Team, email Dance@LifesongStudio.com.
Lifesong also offers a Dance Performance Team for 2nd-5th grades. This non-competitive team has several opportunities throughout the year to perform in the community. Auditions are held the last week of August. For more information about Dance Performance Team, email Dance@LifesongStudio.com.

See Tuition Table below for calculation of monthly tuition for dance classes. Maximum dance tuition per individual student is $310/month. Maximum dance tuition per family is $400/month. Please note: individual and family maximums do not apply to Company Mixed Dances.
