  • Little Mozarts Piano Exploration Class:  This class is designed to teach musicianship and beginning piano skills specifically for the attention span and abilities of children ages 4-5, using great music with movement, singing, storytelling, and coloring.  Curriculum is designed for a full semester.  Instruction books must be purchased from the instructor.  Limited to 8 students per class.
  • Elementary Vocal Ensemble This group is all about assembling your vocal instrument using timeless melodies to contemporary favorites!  Emphasis is on vocal production ~ breathing, listening, articulating and expressing ~ developing each voice as an individual and in harmony with the group.  This is the perfect place to start for young vocalists.
  • Elementary Beginning Piano Class This class meets weekly to discover the joy and fun of music on the keyboard!  Students will develop keyboard skills while learning the elements and theory of music.  Placement in class is based on age and experience.  Limited to 6 students per class.
  • Elementary Beginning Guitar Class:  This class meets weekly and is designed for beginning guitar students ages 7-11.  Students will develop guitar skills while learning the elements and theory of music.  Placement in class is based on age and experience.

Performance Groups
Season 3 offers something new for musicians at Lifesong Studio – Performance Groups!  Playing with a group adds a new dimension to musicianship and we are excited about this new addition to our Music Studio.  Participation is by audition only.  Audition packets will be available August 18th.  Auditions will be held in early September.  Enrollment in private lessons at Lifesong Studio is required.

Tuition
Music tuition is based on a semester and is divided into equal monthly payments.  Tuition is due on the 1st lesson of the month.  Exception:  August tuition is pro-rated at half for all students.  Lessons are otherwise pro-rated ONLY if a student begins after the first week of the month.  Tuition is NOT pro-rated or refunded for personal absences or studio holidays.

Withdrawal Policy
Enrollment in classes or lessons at Lifesong is through the end of the current season.  The front desk must be notified of withdrawal from any class or lesson prior to the beginning of the month in order to stop tuition for the next month.  All withdrawals are written in our “Add/Drop” book at the time of notification.  Failure to properly notify the front desk will result in tuition continuing to be charged to your account.  By enrolling in a class or private lesson, you have reserved a spot that could be released for someone else.  Thank you for your cooperation and understanding of this policy.

Attendance & Make-Up Policy
Due to the unique nature of private and semi-private lessons, where an instructor has scheduled a specific time to teach a single student as opposed to a class, the following attendance policies will apply:

  1. Contact your instructor directly rather than calling the studio when a lesson will be missed to ensure the instructor receives the message as soon as possible.  In order for an absence to be excused and eligible for the group make-up lesson, the instructor must be notified at least 3 hours prior to the scheduled lesson.  We appreciate as much notice as possible for any planned absences.  Instructors will give students their contact information at the first lesson.
  2. Excused absences will be made up in a group lesson at the end of each semester by each individual instructor.  Unexcused absences will not be made up.
  3. Missed lessons which are the fault of the instructor will be rescheduled for a private makeup.
  4. There will be no refunds for missed lessons.

Music Recital Fees / $20 Individual or $35 Family
Students in the Music Studio are encouraged to participate in our recital at the end of each semester.  Recitals are not mandatory but strongly encouraged.  Performance is an important part of becoming a mature and confident musician.  Performances also provide students with the opportunity to share their hard work with their families, friends and fellow students.  Recital Fees are used to offset the costs of facility usage, programs, awards, and other expenses associated with the performance.  Recital fees are due on or before November 1st for the Fall Semester and on or before April 1st for the Spring Semester.  Recital fees are non-refundable.

Practice Time & Parental Support
Regular and consistent practice time outside of the lesson is vital to the progress and development of the student musically.  Ideally, the student should be very comfortable and confident with new concepts by the end of a good week of practice.  The teacher will advise each student individually regarding recommended practice time.  The more you put into it, the more you will get out of it!  Parents are always welcome to stay for the lesson and are encouraged to sit in on their child’s lessons periodically to observe their progress first-hand.  The encouragement, support and involvement of the parent, especially for younger children, are critical to the outcome of time spent in music lessons.
