ENROLLMENT/WITHDRAWAL POLICYLifesong Class Tuition Schedule for Dance and Theatre
Students who drop any class or lesson prior to the end of the season MUST GIVE WRITTEN NOTICE 30 DAYS PRIOR TO THE BEGINNING OF THE MONTH in order to stop the tuition billing process and keep your card from being charged. Failure to give written notice will result in tuition being charged to your account and automatic payment will be processed without refund. Click HERE to withdraw enrollment. CLASS PLACEMENT AND ENROLLMENT

Initial placement in dance classes is determined at registration and is based on the student’s age, experience and ability. Staff will evaluate students during the first few weeks of class to ensure proper placement. In the regular season (mid-August through May), enrollment is open for pre-ballet and combo classes through September in the fall semester and again in January for the spring semester. Enrollment is open for all other dance classes through January, pending evaluation and class availability.

DRESS CODE GUIDELINES

  • Dancers should dress in comfortable, non-restrictive, modest, age-appropriate dance clothing.
  • Hair should be up and preferably in a bun for all classes, all ages (exception – Hip Hop).
  • Dress code for Ballet class (Level 1 & up) is black leotard, pink tights and hair in a bun.
  • Pre-Ballet, BTT & BTJ combo class dancers are welcome to wear any color or style of leotard.
  • Dancers should wear a cover-up while in the common areas and not in class.
  • Shoe requirements below.

CHRISTMAS RECITAL FOR PRE-BALLET & COMBO CLASSES
Saturday, December 21, 2019 / LifeStage Theatre at Lifesong Studio

Our annual Christmas Recital for Pre-Ballet, BTT and BTJ classes takes place at LifeStage Theatre typically on the last Saturday of classes in December before the break. The Christmas Recital is a fun celebration of the holidays and all our young dancers have accomplished in the fall semester. Christmas Recital Fees and Costume Fees are due October 1 and are non-refundable. The Costume Fee ($75) not only cover the cost of the actual costume, but also other behind-the-scenes expenses including alterations, ordering, sorting, and other necessary administrative tasks associated with the recital.The Christmas Recital Fee ($25) helps cover costs such as theatre usage, programs, staff, etc.

SPRING RECITAL

Our Spring Dance Recital is the event our dancers work toward throughout the entire year. Although participation is not mandatory, it is strongly encouraged as the recital is a great opportunity for students and allows them to fully experience the benefit of all their hours of training and gives friends and family the opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments.

SPRING RECITAL COSTUME FEE: The costume fees not only cover the cost of the actual costume, but also other behind-the-scenes expenses such as alterations, ordering, sorting, etc. Costume fees for Pre-Ballet, BTT and BTJ classes are $75/each and costume fees for individual subject classes are $85/each. Costume fees are due December 31. Costume fees are non-refundable.

SPRING RECITAL FEE: The recital fees are used to offset the costs of auditorium rental, programs, staff and other expenses associated with the recital. Spring Recital Fee is $75 per student and is due February 1 for all participating dancers. Recital fee is non-refundable.

COMPETITIVE DANCE (DANCE COMPANY AND DANCE TEAM)

Each summer, we offer the opportunity for dancers between the ages of 6-18 to audition for our competitive Dance Company or Dance Team. Auditions are typically held at the end of July or early August in conjunction with our dance intensive. For more information about Dance Company and Dance Team, email Dance@LifesongStudio.com.

PERFORMANCE TEAM

Lifesong also offers a Dance Performance Team for dancers ages 8-11 with previous dance training, personality and a desire to share their love of dance with the community. This non-competitive team has several opportunities throughout the year to perform in the community as well as in our Christmas and Spring Recitals. Auditions are held the last week of August. Pre-Ballet for age 2

PRE-BALLET is designed for 2 year olds and is the perfect place to begin loving dance! Basic ballet skills, terminology, rhythm, and coordination are taught, practiced, and developed through creative movement and music in a nurturing and supportive environment.

Ballet, Tap & Tumbling Combo (BTT) for ages 3-5

BALLET, TAP & TUMBLING is a fun combo class designed for ages 3-4 (BTT1) and ages 4-5 (BTT2) focused on ballet & tap basics with a few minutes of simple tumbling. Developing basic skills and a love for dance is the goal for our young beginners.

Ballet, Tap & Jazz Combo (BTJ) for K-2nd grades

BALLET, TAP & JAZZ is a the next step (or beginning step) for dancers in Kindergarten through 2nd grade. Our BTJ classes are grouped by grade and designed to develop a love and appreciation for dance while growing in ballet, tap and jazz basic techniques. Having fun, developing dance and social skills while learning to work together in a positive, supportive and encouraging environment is our goal and commitment.

BALLET

BALLET is an important foundation for success in all styles of dance. We encourage all dancers to train in ballet! Our ballet classes are leveled according to a specific syllabus and progression through the levels varies on each student individually. Students are placed in classes based on experience and age. Our goal is to equip them with the proper training to advance through our classical ballet syllabus. Historically students advance based on their participation and absorption of the material along with how they implement corrections. A good work ethic, a positive attitude and focus are important for success and continued growth.

TECHNIQUE

Our TECHNIQUE classes are also leveled according to the skills and needs of each dancer. Classes consist of stretching, conditioning and progressions that are a part of improving each dancer’s overall skill set, specifically in jazz and contemporary.

LYRICAL (also known as contemporary) is a dance style that combines elements of ballet with the freedom, fluidity and expressiveness of jazz and contemporary choreography. Contemporary gives dancers the opportunity to express emotion and execute technique.

Level 2C is a combined Jazz and Lyrical class this season. Students will learn both genres in one class!
